A JPEG goes into the PDF as its own bytes, so a scan or photograph arrives at exactly the quality it left — no generational loss.
Each image is scaled to fit inside the page and margins with its aspect ratio intact, then centred.
PNG and other formats must be converted to JPEG to be embedded, and the tool says so and lets you choose the quality rather than quietly re-compressing.
Combine images into a single PDF. Each picture becomes its own page, scaled to fit with proportions preserved, on the page size and orientation you choose. JPEG files are embedded exactly as they are — the same bytes, no decoding and re-compressing — so a scan is not degraded on the way in. PNG and other formats have no direct PDF equivalent and are converted to JPEG at a quality you set, which the tool states plainly rather than implying the conversion is lossless. Everything happens on your device.
