Validation
Valid markup is necessary for a rich result but does not produce one — Google must also crawl the page, judge the markup a match for the visible content, and consider the page eligible. Marking up content that a visitor cannot see is a policy violation, so describe what is actually on the page. Verify with Google’s Rich Results Test after publishing.

FAQPageEach type shows only the fields that belong to it.
Missing ones are reported as errors before generation.
Paste it into the page head or body — either works for JSON-LD.
Addresses, authors, brands and offers are emitted as the nested types schema.org defines, which is what separates markup that works from markup that merely parses.
Required fields, date formats and price formats are checked, and the finished document is re-parsed by the JSON-LD validator.
Valid markup is necessary but not sufficient. The tool says so instead of implying that generating JSON-LD earns you a rich result.
Build schema.org structured data as JSON-LD, with the nesting the vocabulary actually requires. Flattening an address into a string or an author into a bare name produces markup that parses and means nothing — so an address becomes a PostalAddress, an author a Person, a price an Offer. Required properties are checked before anything is generated, dates and prices are format-validated, and every document this tool produces is run back through the JSON-LD validator. What it will not tell you is whether Google shows a rich result, because that depends on crawling and eligibility rules no local tool can see.
